Suggest Treatment For Obturator Hernias

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014
Question: My name is XXXXXXX XXXXXXX and I have (2) Hernias - one each side. have been diagnosed as being Obturator hernias. No one in my home town wish to do the surgery as of right now. I have emphasema and my
heart has stent on the right side of my heart. My pulmonary Doctor says I would be a high risk patient and will probably have to wait until an emergency happens. I do not wish to take that chance. Is there a Doctor that will take a chance with me. I am getting very worried about this.

Brief Answer:
You can wait and watch.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
In my 17years of general surgical experience, I have seen only 1 case of Obdurator hernia. It is very rare hernia.
The patient presented with intestinal obstruction with complaints of Distension of abdomen, vomiting and constipation. Surgery was done as an emergency. Patient survived.
If you do not have any complaints that are mentioned above, then you can wait as you are 82 years old with associated heart and lung ailments.
It could be a high risk surgery.
I request you to wait .
If you have any queries, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards

Thank You for your reply. I got great news today 8/22/2014. Was able to find a local Dr. that saw me today and he just reported I do not have hernias. He feels after his thorough exam today and checking CT Scans of my abdomen and pelvis
my glands in the pelvic area are swollen. Prescription for this is next. Thank You for being so prompt. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX 8/22/2014 12:56 PM MTN Time
