Suggest Treatment For Occipital Nerve Blocks From Chronic Headaches
Question: I am one year post menopausal and have had 3 occipital nerve blocks for chronic headaches. After 2nd injection vaginal spotting began since 3rd injection very heavy constant flow. Will bleeding eventually stop or do injections need to be discontinued for bleeding to stop. Blocks finally relieved headache but can't afford surgery right now due to recent job change.
Brief Answer:
Bleeding more probably not related to injections.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.
In my opinion, steroids used for occipital nerve block, could have only local symptoms, but no symptoms related to uterine bleeding.
I suggest you to consult a Gynecologyst and discuss your concerns and tests needed in order to correctly evaluate the cause of uterine bleeding.
In conclusion, uterine bleeding is most probably related to hormone disbalance or uterine lesions related to post menopause syndrome, than steroids injection for nerve block.
Hope this helps. I remain at your disposal for further questions or clarifications.
Best regards.
