Suggest Treatment For Oral Cancer
Question: My father has been diagnosed with oral cancer and was recommended surgery. Since he underwent a bye-pass operation 12 years ago, doctors asked for a cardiac opinion. While testing, his TMT was positive-he could complete only 3.5 minutes, his ECG showed poor electric generation and ejection fraction was 45%. How risky would be the procedure?
Brief Answer:
Its very risky as patient is immunocompromised
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing in.
As per your history, its very clear that patient is immunocompromised. In such cases prognosis is poor & complications are very common.
Hence I would suggest you to avoid surgery & go for some other therapies like chemotherapy or radiotherapy after consulting oncologists.
Hope I answered your query
Wishing you good health
