Suggest Treatment For Osteoarthritis In The Hands
About a month ago, I started having blurred vision - this is intermittent - lasts usually for just a few minutes at a time. I had one incident with what can only be explained as a halo effect of sorts in the periferal vision on my right eye I want to know if these symptoms can be related or if they indeed just things that happened close to each other.
My hands have never been any worse than just achy in the past. Was told that I had osteoarthritis in them years ago due my having always had very large knuckles. My mother and maiden aunts had the same hands. It was a joke in the family. A doctor told me that tis was in fact inherited osteoarthrisits. Other than a few achy times with the hands, they have never hurt like they do now. Now, my little finger on my left hand is terribly painful. pain level is a 7

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your message and understood your problem.
I see that you have an inherited osteoarthritis. To me, its seems more like rheumatologic arthritis knowing your symptoms.
So it is an autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis or other inflammatory arthritis. These are diseases that worsen as the time passes. These autoimmune diseases cause inflammation in joints but not only.
They can affect the eyes as well and cause impaired vision. They can cause eye cataract, glaucoma and other eye troubles such as uveitis which can lead to vision loss.
It is very important for people who suffer from arthritis to check their eyes often and protect them.
My opinion for you is that you must keep your disease under control and slow down its progression. Full follow-ups by a rheumatologist are necessary. Physiotherapy and painkillers are the most important elements in managing arthritis.
Immunodepressant drugs are also used to slow down the progression of the disease and improve the quality of life.
Hope this is helpful.
