Brief Answer:
many causes

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question.
There are many causes for such pains. It could be from a strained muscle or more concerning from an infection.
The mastoid bone is behind the ear and if that gets an infection in it it can be very serious. If the area behind the ear is tender to touch and red and you are running a fever then go to Emergency now.
If the chest pain is pressure like and it seems to start there and move up into the neck and ear, this can be a sign of heart disease and you would also need to go to emergency now.
If it is just an achy pain and you feel you may have pulled a muscle or strained a muscle then use warm compresses and gentle stretches to try and relieve the pain.
If it is not resolving see your doctor as soon as possible.
