Question: I have an abscess caused by a broken tooth. The dentist has put me on Amoxicillin. Will it ease the pain as well as clear up the infection. I have only just started my dosage but am still experiencing pain

Read your query as you have abscess in broken tooth and your dentist has prescribed you Amoxicillin see what happened is Antibiotic medicine help in preventing the spread of infection .

As you are experiencing pain for this I will suggest you to take Dispersible Analgesic (painkiller) like Ketrol Dt or dispersible Paracetamol along with antibiotic by consulting with your local doctor .

-I will also suggest you home remedy for pain you can apply clove oil pellet on that tooth for pain . Do warm saline rinses 2 -3 times a day . Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and use mouthwash regularly .
