Question: Grade 2 muscle strain, hand sprain, therapy, Physical capacity exam, MRI, xrays, doctors say MRI looks good nothing torn nothing broken it has been four months and still at time it hurts badly all the way up to my elbow last night I shook hands with Five or six people and I could feel tendons on the inside and outside of my arm rise up withno pain then tonight around 5pm it starts hurting in my hand all the way to my elbow. This injury has been very confusing to me it feels good then it feels bad is it possible that they lied to me because this is a workmans comp injury? Should I go to another state and have an MRI done and pay for it myself to see if they lied and if there was more damage than what they are saying would it show up as scar tissue on another MRI.

Brief Answer:
yes this can be worksman compensation injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
Yes this may be worksman compensation injury.
You can do MRI with contrast of spine from other centre.
I will advise EMG NCV study also to see weakness.
Till time you can take analgesic and neurotropic medication like pregabalin consulting your doctor.
Physiotherapy plays important role in treatment. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and Tens may give you relief.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.

It is a hand, arm injury Will another MRI show scar tissue if there was more damage than they told me?

From what I have been told with the amount of damage shown by original testing I should have been better a long time ago why would it still be causing pain

They said that if it didn't rip anything in my hand where most of the impact was that it wouldn't have ripped anything around my elbow but I feel pain around my elbow. Should I have an MRI of my elbow also?

Sometimes it hurts sometimes it doesn't it has been that way from about a month after the injury something that hurts one time may not hurt the next and then something that didn't hurt will hurt out of the blue... IE. A certain movement.

Brief Answer:
Yes MRI of wrist with hand will show details of soft tissue injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Yes MRI of wrist with hand will show details of soft tissue injury. If there is any neurological weakness then EMG-NCV study will help.

If there is restriction or unstable elbow movement then MRI/CT SCAN will help.

On and off pattern of pain suggest that possibility of structural injury is less, there can be functional neurological weakness or fibrosis.
