Suggest Treatment For Painful Chronic Mouth Ulcers

These are most likely to be apthous ulcers.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. These chronic painful oral ulcers are known as apthous ulcers.
2. Apthous ulcers are of three types: Minor (Mikulicz), Major (Sutton's) and Herpetiform (viral/clustered/snail-track ulcers). Either get a direct examination or upload a close-up image if possible.
3. The exact cause remains obscure, however the causes include stress, acid reflux, indigestion, trauma, food allergies, certain foods (citrus, milk), Vitamin deficiency (esp. B complex), Iron, Folic acid, Zinc deficiency. Rarely hormonal changes and autoimmune disorders may be involved.
4. Have you changed any food/ cooking oil or new toothpaste? You have not mentioned your son's age.
5. Local treatment includes liquid medical grade Glycerin or commercially available ointments like Zytee, Smyle, Orasep, 5% amlexanox (Lexanox) and others.
A mouthwash such as Tantum may be used. The above deficiencies must be corrected. Acid reflux must be controlled, if present. You may also try Tab. Rebagen (rebamipide). The dose will have to be adjusted as per his age. Hence it is better to get a prescription from a local doctor.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
