Brief Answer:
It can be fungal infection but other possibilities should be considered

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, it seems as it is most likely yeast or fungal infection, as these areas are more prone due to sweat accumulation and dampening may favor fungal growth however other possibilities like contact dermatitis, psoriasis and ring worm infestation should be considered and a detailed examination by a dermatologist may be needed to pin point the diagnosis.

Meanwhile keep using clotrimazole which you have already started and for pains or inflammation OTC analgesics like acetaminophen and for itching antihistamines like cetrizine or loratidine may be used. Keep the area dry and avoid tight undergarments for few days.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
