Brief Answer:
Things don't seem to be too bad though, but do look into it in the long run.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to HealthcareMagic, I am Dr Muhammad Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I can understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

You keep getting this problem, means that the tissue around your knee is weak and loose so it lets the knee cap slip, currently it seems that there is soft tissue damage around the knee cap there shouldn't be any serious problem if there was not a direct hit or trauma to your knee.

Here is what you should be doing--

1) Apply Crepe bandage.
2) Icing of the area.
3) Give your knee as much rest as possible.

4) Take tab Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day after food for 3 days, it will relieve pain and also the inflammation.

5) You can gently apply some analgesic cream/gel like Voltaren gel, it helps locally with the symptoms.

6) If this doesn't help within three days or swelling keeps getting worsened, do visit your doctor for a check-up and repeat X-ray of the affected region.

In the long run, do stay under continuous follow-up of your orthopedic specialist. He might get some tests done like MRI of the joint to see what can be the problem, usually this can be dealt without any surgery just medication and strengthening of joint structure through physiotherapy.

No need to worry, just follow this and observe how you stay in the first place.

I hope this answered your question, if you have further queries, please feel free to ask.

Regards.
