Suggest Treatment For Pale And Thick Urine After Alcohol Intake
Question: Hi,
I underwent a blood and urine test. My urine is very pale and thick although I have been taking in a lot of water. Muscles of my hands and legs have become loose. Had been recently administered 2 doses of Nimesulide at one go(for curing a burn in my hand).
I have been consuming alcohol frequently as well.
Is it too severe?

The muscles are made of proteins and poor protein turnover could therefore affect their tone. So, it is a high time to stop drinking, in case you want to save your liver. Thanks for writing back. As already mentioned, I attributed the cause for rise in SGPT and bilirubin to be due to your drinking. In other words I suppose it to be alcohol induced hepatitis. There are other causes of hepatitis but the provided information is inadequate for making a distinction. Avoidance of the trigger, in this case the alcohol, is the way out. In other words, you need to stop drinking for the SGPT and bilirubin to be back to normal. Pathology tests are done in order to help in determining the next line of action. In this case, the only thing to be done is to give your liver some rest. You can still repeat the test after 2-3 weeks.
Since the pus cell count in urine is normal (4-5/hpf is acceptable), there is no need to repeat the test. However, you need to drink plenty of water.
