Question : It is suspected that i have abdominal adhesions causing partial obstruction it resolves when i go on a liguid diet. Would it be beneficial to take metamucil since i also have diverticulitis
Brief Answer:
No, it wont.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
No it wont. If you have partial bowels obstruction due to adhesions, liquid diet is the best you can do by yourself. It would be good to have it diagnosed (with colonoscopy and CT enteroclysis) and operated if necessary. Otherwise it can get worse.
Metamucil can make your stool more dense and trigger the symptoms.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
