Fistula in ano can occur after Peri anal abscess.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I reviewed the Discharge summary and MRI Report.
Patient had Perianal abscess for which he got operated.MRI shows Fistulous tract separately. As per the report, there is no communication between these two.
If the Fistulous tract gets infected,it will discharge pus as there will be 2 openings in fistula. The pus will not stay there in the tract. So,chances of Peri anal abscess in fistula in ano doesn't arise.
Sometimes, there will be temporary blockade of the opening leading to accumulation of pus. But,once the blockage is gone, pus will be let out.
Usually, Fistula occurs after drainage /rupture of the Peri anal abscess.
The patient got treated for peri anal abscess.Surgery has to be done for Fistula in ano.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Regards
