Suggest Treatment For Peripheral Neuropathy
Question: I have had Peripheral Neuropathy with Involuntary Movement for 6 yrs, just had to stop driving. I am 57 and otherwise healthy. No neurologist will see me with Humana insurance. I am seriously depressed. Any advice?
Brief Answer:
Provide more details as asked with any reports if available
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
For neuropathy and involuntary movement detailed neurological examination and investigation is required.
Treatment highly depends upon diagnosis.
What type of movement is present.
Is it involving one limb, one side or whole body?
Any periocular or oral involvement?
Any behavioural abnormalities or seizure or memory impairment?
What is the cause for neuropathy?
Any diabetes,?
Any previous investigation available?
Provide these details for further analysis.

To answer further question:
Lower legs, both, move by themselves and twitch at night, why I don't drive.
No behavior or memory changes.
No diabetes re: bloodwork.
No oral involvement.
Just a severely bad gait, sometimes barely stand,no running at all and hand involvement - no buttons or keyboard accuracy. Should I research a different insurance because I have been told I need a NCV? test and definitely need Physical Therapy. Depression is constant...healthy for 52 of 57 years.

Brief Answer:
Definitely require neurologist examination and investigation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You need to get investigated.
In most movement disorder NCV is not required and brain MRI may be required but if there is any finding on examination in peripheral nerves then NCV may be done.
My advice is to get evaluated by a neurologist first as investigation required will be communicated accordingly.
Insurance plans can be changed if you get benefit.
