Suggest Treatment For Persistent Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea
Question: Severe diarrhea since yesterday evening. Had lopamide 2mg twice (1 in afternoon and 1 at 6:00PM ) still no relief. Had stomach pain and foul smell but not now. Had more than 10 bouts of watery motion since morning. Pain in stomach started 3 days back.I has KFC yesterday afternoon and things got out of control. Please advice.

I have gone through your concerns. You seem to be suffering from the inflammation of the stomach and intestines. The medications Metroquin & Norflox-TZ are effective if taken twice daily and the beneficial effects may appear after 1-2 days only.
Since you had 10 bouts of watery loose motions since morning if I would have been your treating physician I would have advised
1. IV (intravenous fluids) to correct the dehydration (if any) first.
2. An adequate course of Ofloxacin+Ornidazole combination like Metroquin to treat the suspected infection
3. Probiotics like Sporolac powder to reduce the frequency of the watery stools.
4. Encourage purified drinking water, coconut water or soft diet like 'ganji'
5. To avoid spicy and oily food
6. To avoid coffee, alcohol (if you consume) to prevent dehydration.
7. Your blood glucose to be checked.
Hope the suggestions given above would enable you to take proper treatment from a hospital.
