Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Prognosis is good and this in general doesn't reduce life time and doesnt cause significant difficulties in life as long as there is no acute necrotic pancreatitis or malignant tumor. atrophy and mild pancreatitis should not affect insulin secretion so diabetes should not be concern. However, certain digestion problem may occur such as weight loss, diarrhea or intolerance to certain food but in severe cases it can be treated with external pancreatic enzyme intake such as Kreon. It is important at this point to have frequent ultrasound follow-ups every few months to detect possible pseudocyst formation. But in every case, this is not threatening condition. Wish you good health. Regards
