Need to see a gastroenterologist for Gastroscopy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the details.
I feel that the symptoms described by you could be due to peptic ulcer disease, in which there is an erosion of the gastric lining due to persistent irritation by the gastric juices.
As you are having this issue since many years, on and off and not able to heal it through regular antacids, I suggest you to see a gastroenterologist, who might advise for gastroscopy to observe the changes on the gastric lining and treat you accordingly.
I would also suggest you to get Urea breath test for H. Pylori bacteria as it is known to cause peptic ulcer disease and if positive, eradication of this bacteria would be important to relieve you from the symptoms.
Please discuss regarding these with the gastroenterologist.
Along with these following these measures will help:
1. Drink plenty of water(min of 2 to 3 lts/day). Drink a glass of water half an hour before and after every meal. This will make sure adequate consumption of water.
2. Keep a water bottle on your working desk and keep sipping as and when required.
3. Good to know that you are avoiding spicy food and having home food only. Make sure you have your meals at regular intervals.
4. Avoid consumption of coffee and tea.
5. Can drink cold milk as and when required.
Hope this answers your query.
