Question: I'm 44 years old. I started exercising no more than two weeks ago. I also walk once or twice a week for 2 hours maybe a little more. I work on Fridays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays as a guard. Those three days I stand for 12 hours each day.

I now notice I get sum cramps in my back. no stabbing pain but more of a tight feeling and moderate pain. What may be causin it?

Brief Answer:
Your one hours upright are possible responsible for this!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your job is most likely a contributing factor to this pain. This pain is certainly a muscle strain related to the long standing positions at work. Is it possible to interspace these long periods of standing with some rest in a seated and more relaxed position? That to me is indispensable. In addition, tylenol and regular physical exercises will help. Tylenol, when in pains will help.

Long term management is a review of your job and position to avoid extra long hours and strenuous positions on the back muscles, resulting in this pain.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
