Brief Answer:
As explained below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/77 - surgery on hiatus hernia and gall bladder removal - had diarrhea - constant with no warning - question lite (I hope this is Questran Light oral) helps but makes nauseous - have had this for 14 years - would like some help...

Please give some additional information.
- How many times you have to visit the restroom for diarrhea in 24 hours?
- Stools: color, consistency, smell, blood, black, mucus, worms ?
- Any relation to food or liquids?
- any specific factors, food or beverages that you have noted to increase your problem?
- Have you got your blood tested for thyroid function and other tests?
- Any other information in details that you would like to share to have better interaction and a chance to find the solution.

I would advise you the following:
- Stool test for 3 consecutive days.
- Test of blood: CBC, sugar, thyroid and liver function tests, Electrolytes.
- Recent ultrasonography, if not a new one.
- Colonoscopy.
- CT scan of the abdomen if needed.

- Try banana, curds and charcoal tablets.
- Treatment as per the stool and other reports.
- Make the list of the foods, beverages and other factors like stress and/or anxiety instigating or enhancing the problems and to avoid them altogether.
- If all the reports are normal treatment on the basis of IBS can be given on empirical basis.
- Wood apple/ bel or bael fruit works the best and take under the care of Ayurvedacharya (Ayurvedic Doctor ) if you have in your area.

I hope this answer helps you get started properly.
