Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy has to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms at your age (over 50) can appear due to partial bowels obstruction. This issue can be caused by large intestine polyp, cancer or inflammatory bowels disease. All 3 conditions can be diagnosed with colonoscopy. This test is strongly advisable at this point. Especially that diarrhea lasts for a long time and no medicine is helping.
If colonoscopy is negative, you should consider stool test and stool culture test. You should also discuss with your doctor Rifaximine treatment. In a meanwhile please also check your thyroid hormones.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
