Suggest Treatment For Persistent Fever When Suffring From Spine TB

Three possibilities need to be looked into:
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your brother's medical details. Persistent fever in a patient with spine TB raises three possibilities:
1. Prolonged response- in some cases, it may take 4-6 weeks to show treatment response to anti-TB medications,
2. Multi Drug-resistant TB (MDR TB)- In some cases, the TB bacteria may be resistant to the TB drugs. In these cases, second line Anti-TB medications are required.
3. Drug fever- TB medications in some cases can lead to fever. Stopping the drugs for a few days would confirm this possibility.
You can discuss these possibilities with your doctor.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
