Suggest Treatment For Persistent Hip Pain
I have had R side hip pain for 3months now, today has been the worst I've felt. I walk 3 times a day with my dog. Could it just be too much walking?
I can't get comfortable in bed for the pain. If I move r leg to side it's agony!!!
The worst thing though is getting up out of chair after sitting for a while. Once I'm up, after about a minute I'm fine.
Stairs are another problem, when I put the weight onto the problem hip it's sore. I have trouble trying to put my underwear and trousers etc on. Lifting the leg to do this is sore.
Crossing legs is a big No No. Have I perhaps just walked too much?
I'm 43 I've had no menstrual cycle for 7 months now,I am going to gp soon re this as I do worry about my joints.
I know it's prob nothing but wanted to take the opportunity to speak to you tonight and if my mid is put at rest won't need to see doc. Hate going to doctors :-)
Muscles inflammation can be the reason.

Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Unfortunately doctors consult is necessary. Your symptoms are most likely caused by joint changes or by chronic inflammation of one group thigh muscles (for example abductor muscle). It is impossible to give precise diagnosis without physical examination.
Walking is rather not the reason of your pain. For sure it does not help with healing. Pain is a clear signal that you should not use painful part of your body, until it will be healed.
So I suggest you to quit walking for some time (at leas 3 weeks). Lukewarm compresses, antiinflammatory medicines (Diclophenac) should also help.
But before any treatment, x-ray of your hip should be done. Please consult orthopedist.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
You are welcome.
