Suggest Treatment For Persistent Knee Pain

default
Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: I have had some knee pain for quite a while. I'm 61 so I won't rule out arthritis except that the pain is in the back of my knee all the time. At times it moves around to the side and front of my knee. It gets worse with inactivity. Sometimes my knee will 'buckle' when I use it.

Brief Answer:
GET MRI scan done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

Apart from arthritis, other problems like meniscal tear can also cause all that.

So I advise you to visit orthopedic surgeon who will do your physcal examination and certain tests of knee like mcmurray, apley etc and may advise you MRI scan along with xray of both knees AP view.

Do not take asprin without prescription s it may cause you harm also.

You can also send me the report of xray and MRI scan for discussion.

Till then have tab.aceclofenac100mg+thiocolchicoside 4mg by prescription of your family doctor, as this is not over the counter drug.

Avoid squatting, upstairs , prolong standing, running etc.

Apply hot packs.

I hope you got the point.

Thanks,

Dr.CHANDER XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
