Suggest Treatment For Persistent Nausea While Having Viral Flu
Looks to be a viral flu
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting your query,
Before I would guide you any further, I would like to know a few details related in order to provide you with the proper line of management;
- any history of food from outside?
- any other symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever with chills and rigor etc?
From the description that you have provided, it seems she is having viral flu.
If I was your treating physician, I would do the following:
- ciplox tz is an antibiotic, which is not an ideal drug for viral flu but can be taken. Since already started on, it has to be taken for a period of 5 days.
- take paracip (acetaminophen) for fever
- Also can take Tab. Emeset 4mg if and when needed, for nausea.
Hope this helps
Please feel free to discuss further,
Regards
Below are further details.
- No diarrhea
- No abdominal pain
- yes, having fever with chills
- headache and body pain
- she had some mix pakora and McD Burger yesterday
She has only taken one ciplox tz in morning. If not required then I would like to avoid antibiotics. please suggest any other medicine for viral flu.
Continue Ciplox- TZ for 5 days.

Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing back,
I'm glad to know that she does not have the above said symptoms. But the presence of fever with chills shows that there is an infective source which does require antibiotic treatment.
The problem with antibiotics is that if once started, it should not be stopped as she will develop tolerance to that medicine. That is, next time when she does actually need that antibiotic, she won't be able to take it as her body will get resistant to it. This is the sole reason why antibiotics are always advised to be taken under medical supervision.
As for now, it would be for her best to continue with Ciplox- TZ, as this will cover both aerobic and anaerobic infective source.
Also continue with the rest of the treatment I have mentioned in my previous mail.
As for diet, stick on to bland and soft diet for one week. Also take plenty of water. This should resolve within a week's time.
Hope I have answered to your query.
Please feel free to discuss further or else kindly close and give your feedback.
Regards
Dr. Remy
