Question: Hi Doctor...please bear with me, med school dropout ages ago
60yo f presenting pain low right quadrant, mild fever (low grade), no rebound pain, constant, no nausea, no vomiting, eating normally, 7 yrs sigmoid cancer free, over 100lbs overweight, pain radiating from front to back circularly thru right hip (hip is deformed due to pt being either Thalidomide or DES baby), making even walking near impossible (of course, I'm a wuss when it comes to pain: I cry at a hangnail), standing, sitting and laying are also bad. I'm at wits end! What do you think? "Physician, heal thyself" or hit up the ER?

Brief Answer:
Hi dear, welcome to HCM, Pain in right iliac fossa could be appendix

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, welcome to HCM, Pain in right iliac fossa could be appendix (even without rebounding), a pelvic pain from uterus/tubes/ovaries, or a fibrotic band due to your previous surgery. I will advocate a sonography at the earliest. And you are a pretty good drop out--you should have continued--regards
