Suggest Treatment For Persistent Severe Back Pain

You can use OTC painkillers first.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.
Ambien is a drug used to promote sleep, it is not indicated to treat pain.
In my opinion, besides muscle relaxer, you should use a painkiller for a short time.
You can start with OTC painkillers such Paracetamol, or Ibuprofen.
If good control of pain by those drugs, you can use them for one week or so.
If no improved pain after a couple of days, you should discus with your Doctor about prescribing stronger painkillers such codeine, oxycodone, piroxicam etc.
If your sleep was a problem before the fall, it is probably a bigger problem after the fall, so, in my opinion, you could use Ambien too, before sleep for few days.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Greetings.

Try to stay more sitting/laying.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
Since you were evaluated once at ER, I don't think going there again could help you further.
I'm really sorry to hear all those sufferings you're going through. You need to rest as much as possible and also to use painkillers in addition to muscle relaxer.
Hope I helped you.
Take care.
