Suggest Treatment For Persistent Shooting Pain In The Head

Since yesterday I am feeling pain in the center of my skull. Although intensity is very very low but if I touch that area I feel pain. Even when I took shower, water sprinkles were making me feel that pain. Yesterday night it became shooting pain with mild/high intensity. Shooting Pain felt coming out from the centre of skull or from behind Left ear or from Left side forehead. Not sure if it is related to neuro or not.
Just to inform you, I didn’t get any external injury which may be the cause of this.
History :
I had the same pain 6 months and 2~3 years back also. Infact I remember that it has even older history but last time shooting pain was coming out from behing Right ear.It continued for 6~7 days.I took some muscle relaxant and pain killer which helped after consulting with a neurologist.
But this time it is on the skull also which is major reason of concern. Not sure what is the cause. Why it is coming after every ear? What is the root cause and solution?
Initially I thought it is ENT related problem but then I felt it may be neuro problem.
Pl suggest medicine, exercise and test,if required.I am really worried.
Can I discuss on phone in detail
you need to get examined and investigated thoroughly ..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX welcome to HCM..
I've gone through your query and understand your concern..I've also gone through your previous queries already addressed by the fellow neurologist..
Now the typical sign of tenderness(feeling of soreness and pain on touch) and extra perception to cold water, indicates the nature of pain as neuropathic / pinched vessel or even secondary to migraine(which is already explained by the neurologist in your other query)..
First of all please don't worry as excessive anxiety will further make you over conscious about it and will do no benefit in this regard..
No it's not likely to be of ENT origin..
Yes, since it's persisting for a while now, it's better to get it checked clinically by a Neurologist, so please schedule for an appointment as it'll also ease your mind off..
Cause can only be ascertain after a thorough clinical examination and some specific set of investigations as per the clinical findings (i.e. CBC,electrolytes,Vit-D3 , Vit-B12 level and /or MRI Brain with contrast and some other)..
No i'm not going to advice any more analgesics and painkillers as it seems you're already taking some and advising more painkillers will only hasten the actual diagnosis in this regard, so just continue them and schedule the appointment with the Neurologist for a detailed physical evaluation..
Let me know how you stay in the due course, any queries just feel free to ask, i'll be glad to clarify..
Wish you the very best of health..
Take Care
Kind Regards
