Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Hot feeling in the head can be from a fever (take your temp.) and possibly from hot flashes (even if these may have gone away in past).

Regarding your sinuses, it may be that the infection is viral (which would not be cleared up by antibiotics), or that, if bacterial, it is resistant to these antibiotics. New recommendations for treating sinusitis are to refrain from prescribing antibiotics for the first 3 weeks because the initial problem is usually caused by a virus, and because the body can usually clear it up without complications, in 3 weeks.

I am wondering, have you also tried a nasal steroid such as Flonase? This will help decrease nasal/sinus mucus membranes swelling. It takes a few days of daily used to really start working

If it's been more than 3 weeks, and antibiotics haven't helped, and you've tried nasal steroids, then consider going back to your doctor for possible imaging studies of your sinuses.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
