Suggest Treatment For Persistent Swelling And Redness After Being Bitten By Wasp

Question: Bit by a wasp 9 days ago still red and a tad swollen ! No pain or itching only slight pain initial day of sting . Just wanted to see if this is still a normal reaction this many days after

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query and Picture. Such skin reactions are usual for wasp sting and it can last longer also. Using corticosteroid creams like Hydrocortisone (cortsone 1) for local application twice daily and taking Zyrtec (cetirizine) once daily for 5 days will be helpful to clear this. These are available as over the counter. You can also apply ice packs on the bitten area.
