Suggest Treatment For Persistent Vulvar Itching

Question: Hello Dr, I am a 23 year old girl student. Unmarried. Two years back I had this problem of vuvlar itching because of wearing a very tight underwear and jeans. I switched to loose clothes but gradually this itching started getting increased day by day. I was embarrassed to go to a doctor regarding this. So I never went for a checkup. Since last year I have been scratching the area until it bleeds to get relieved. Since 4-5 months, it started itching on my left arm. Similar itching until it bleeds to get relieved. When its healed completely, the skin area appears dry and white. I have noticed that the skin on my fore vulvar area has somewhat become loose due to excessive scratching. Its most probably lichen sclerosus. Could you suggest medicines for it please?
Brief Answer:
Kindly upload a picture
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Can you please send me a picture of the affected area.
According to your history it seems like it is lichen sclerosis only so most likely you need steroids for relief from itching.
But depends on the current status the treatment will differ from topical steroids to surgical removal of the affected area.
Waiting for the picture.
Regards
Dr Manisha

I have attached the files. Thank you so much for responding.
Brief Answer:
Steroid cream only will suffice
Detailed Answer:
In my opinion you need to apply steroid cream over this lesion twice a day for at least a month and then twice a week for another 2 months along with vitamin A tablets daily.
But it is a prescription drug and also you should get a palpation by a gynecologist to rule out any enlarged lymph nodes along with this.
It is necessary because lichen sclerosis is a precancerous lesion so a thorough work up is mandatory, so don't feel embarrassed and just go for it.
All the best.

Actually i forgot to mention that i am having itching also on my arm and my back..same kind of itching and scratching..could you tell me more about that please..
Brief Answer:
Visit a dermatologist
Detailed Answer:
You need to visit a dermatologist at the earliest and show her all the lesions and sites of itching as she might like to start oral steroids for remission and topical agents for relief of itching.
Don't ignore it for the fear of embarrassment as it will keep on increasing otherwise.
