Can I use the same medication? Please advise
Brief Answer:
It is not the cure
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Ceftum 500 is an antibiotic and is used in treating infections. It is not used to cure phimosis. Please consult your son's treating doctor to know the reason why he was put on Ceftum.
Phimosis is usually treated by circumcision a minor surgery. In milder cases a steroid cream can be of help.
Please make sure whether your son was advised a steroid ointment for phimosis.
Please get back to me if you have any doubts.

GM. I had consulted the same doctor. He is asking me to go for circumcision. But I do not wish to go for it and would like to try with steroid cream. Please suggest. Also let me know which cream to use. Thanks
Brief Answer:
Physical examination necessary
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
I am sorry. Only mild cases of phimosis can be treated with steroid cream. A detailed physical examination of the foreskin is necessary to grade the severity of phimosis.
I suggest you take a second opinion with another urologist or dermatologist.
Hope, I was of some help.
