Suggest Treatment For Pimple With White Head In The Pubic Area

Question: Hi,
There is one white head pimple on pubic region and two are on start of scrotum ( 1 or 2 mm in size) , which are small and its totally painless , when I try to pop it , I feel color of whitehead turns to red as if blood is going to pour out, but nothing happens, , it look more of skin bump, however, I'm concern and worried if this is any problem? there is no pain, no itching, no additional pimples or lumps across, no urinating problems, every thing seem to be perfect except these whitehead pimples, Not sure if it is of any concern or I'm just over-reacting? your kind detailed suggestion and advice will be highly appreciated -
Note: I had un-protected girlfriend once about 2 months ago

I have read your query.
I understand your concern. As per details, the most likely possibility for your symptoms is a condition of skin called
Molluscum contagiosum.
It is viral infection of skin caused by Molluscum contagiosum virus.
It is characterised by white colored bumps with central indentation.
It can be acquired by sexual contact.
I will advise you to upload the images of the bumps so that I can visualize the lesions and advice you to my best.

Hi Dr,

I have uploaded the images, its looking kind of reddish, in one of the pic, these pimples look white, however, when I tried to pop it, the color turn to reddish.
so please have a look and advice.

Molluscum contagiosum is most likely possibility

Detailed Answer:
I have seen the attached photographs.
The bumps look like Molluscum only.
These should be treated as early as possible because they spread very fast.
Various treatment modalities are available including removal by Needle extirpation, chemical cauterisation using Trichloroacetic acid or potassium hydroxide or phenol, electrocautery.
As I said it is a viral infection usually transmitted by sexual contact with involvement of genitalia.
I will advise you to visit your doctor so that he can examine you and give you prescription.
You can share my opinion with him.

Hi Dr,

Thank you so much - I do not see any spread / growth of these bumps, however, I will be in travelling and will be able to see a doctor in first week of Aug. i.e. 3 weeks from now, and these pimples has been there for about last 3 weeks, however, I do not see any further growth in it, is there any remedy I can use or anti-biotic, I can use to stop or cure.
Else, I will be available to see a doctor only in first week of Aug'15. please advice.

Actually it depends on the immune system of a person that how fast it would spread.
If your immunity is good then it tends to limited in number else spreads fast.
The best treatment is by removal of the bump as I mentioned by various methods.
Another way is to apply imiquimod cream precisely over the bumps. But for that too you would need the prescription.
Its better if possible for you to visit your doctor at tge the earliest.

Hi Dr,

Thank you for your kind suggestion, however, few things I would like to ask with regards to your opinion about Molluscum.

1) Is it only because of sexual contacts or could be any other reason? because whom I made out with is not having any such issues.
2) As I'm home away and will be able to visit doctor only in first week of Aug, so is it possible , is there a way to remove / pop these bumps with needle - as home based remedy?
3) As I can't see a doctor by the time I fix up appointment and visit, I will move from this city and I'm travelling, so can you suggest on imiquimod cream? does this have any side effects?
4) I'm planning to take turmeric mix with milk (anti viral remedy), Apple cider vinegar teaspoon with half glass of water (increase alkaline kills virus) , and some additional supplements to exceed my immune system (strength immune system) and cotton soaked in apple cider vinegar and place on bumps thru bandage, does this work?
Your suggestions are highly valuable.

You should not popp Molluscum of your own

Hello. Welcome back.
See Molluscum can be transmitted through fomites also meaning through objects like handle, clothes etc. It is not necessarily sexually transmitted. It is just that tge genital lesions are more commonly acquired via contact.
It is not an emergency . You may wait for a while.
Here I can advise you But cannot give you prescription.
You should not try to popp it at home, it may lead to overling infection. In hospital set up, proper aseptic conditions are maintained.
Do not try anything of your own.
You may take immune system enhancing foods. There is no harm in it.
wait till you can visit your doctor.

Hi Dr,

I have applied few home made remedy on pimples, and I see two of them turn to black ( drying up ) but I feel little itching in on of them....is it going fine?

Hello.
As a Dermatologist, I don't advice my patients to apply anything of their own as the results of such remedies are unpredictable. They might damage the skin.
If you have itch, you may take antihistaminics like levocetrizine for symptomatic relief. Hopefully it would settle. But avoid putting it in future.
