Question: Hi Doctor, I don;t think that this is anything serious- I am just very curious , as to what could be causing it. For about eight months, I've experienced a slight pin-prick sensation in the area of my right inguinal canal. (at just about the abdominal inguinal ring) Mind you, this is not a major pain - just a slight pin prick sensation. It's just that it persists. I seem to feel it mainly, when I am in a sitting position. If possible, i will attach a drawing, with the area of the pin prick circled.

Hello again Dr. XXXXXXX As far as I know, I do not suffer from fungal infection, in the groin. I have tried deep pressing the area, and have only experienced a very slight pain when pressure is deeply applied. No pain at all, when deep pressure was applied to the same area, on the left side. Also, this is probably totally unrelated, but I just thought that perhaps, that I should mention it to you: My only past experience/problem with lymph nodes, was back when I was seventeen (forty-five years ago). During a physical examination, the physician found what he referred to, as a “suspicious” node, in my right arm pit. Because of its size and/or shape, he feared that it might be malignant. Thankfully, it was removed, biopsied, and found to be benign. I probably am being concerned about nothing, and should just ignore this faint pin prick inguinal pain. My PCP believes that it is likely an old muscle strain or pinched nerve. I just wanted to see what you thought.
