Suggest Treatment For Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Question: I am a 29 year old female with a long history of inconclusive GI and adbominal issues. After my second child my cycles diminished to 4-6x/yr with large fifty cent piece sized dark menstruation clots. At first I thought the infrequent menstrations were a blessing but as time went on I developed hormonal imbalances, pre-menopause symptoms, and sever abdominal pain. This year the abdominal pain progressed into pericholecystic inflammation which resulted in a cholecystectomy, bladder pain, sever and acute instances of abdominal pain, what I think feels like kidney pain, oily spotted urine w/1 instance of tissue in urine and passing tissue in my stool. I went to the ER for abdominal pain and they performed a CT scan. The CT scan revealed multiple adnexal masses, trace fluid in the cul de sac and fatty infiltration of the liver. I am under the belief that this could all be result of a high ASO test and PID? Are these syptoms a sign of something more serious or could these multiple adnexal masses be cancer? My PCP doesnt seem concerned but I see an OB in XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
There is nothing much to be concerned about. Yes it could be PID.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Health Care magic. Thank you for posting your query.
I can understand your concern.
Multiple adnexal masses along with hormonal imbalance possibly point towards polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Fatty infiltration of liver is nothing to worry about.
I would suggest you to
- Avoid oily , spicy food
- Regularly exercise to avoid weight gain
- I would start oral contraceptive pills . Your doctor can guide on the exact dosage.
If the symptoms do not subside you might need surgical removal as well.
Do not worry.
Visit a gynaecologist.. He/she can examine you and correlate clinically.
Hope this helps.
