Suggest Treatment For Post-Olympic Syndrome
As mention below
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query
I understand your concern
There are various type of post olympic syndrome like chronic fatigue, depression, and overtraining syndrome. Increased catabolism, depression, infections,
and the stress of training combined with other stresses, may all lead to fatigue and underperformance.
I request you to inform me which type of symptoms do you have.
Overall it will manage as follow:
1. Rest:
- Take rest for 3-4 week.
- If you are still able to work and function in normal life, a regime of relative rest
using gentle non-competitive exercise often in a different sport with no measure of performance available is useful.
- Low level of exercise is easily tolerated and the psychological and
physical benefits will help speed recovery (help for maintaining cardiovascular fitness)
- Spend more time with family and friends
- Recall your positive and good things
2. Relaxation exercise:
Reduction in all stresses with rest, sleep, relaxation therapy, counselling, massage, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy.
Vitamin and mineral supplements will helpful.
Generally recovery will occur in 3-8 week.
I advise you to reduce training and and competition stress for up to 4 months.
Hope I have answered your query
