Suggest Treatment For Post Nasal Drip
Question: Hi Dr Rynne,
I just noticed that it feels like there is something in my throat that I need to swallow. Feels like it does sometime when you have a head cold and some mucas get stuck in your throat and it takes a couple off swallows to get rid of it or you have to try and cough it up. This feeling remains after I swallow. I ate lunch and drank a soda but it's still there. I have been taking Linzess for the past few days and also a Nexium type prescription. Can't think of the name of it .
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
Mucus at the back of throat which gets stuck and has to be swallowed suggests presence of post-nasal drip.
Post nasal drip refers to discharge from the sinuses.
Post nasal drip is seen in chronic sinusitis.
Association of post-nasal drip with feeling of cold is quite suggestive of sinusitis.
However, this is one of the possibility.
I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment in case you have not consulted till yet. for relevant investigations and thus management.
If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.
