Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concern. Post Orgasmic Illness syndrome is a rare disorder that is reported frequently by men of various cultural background.
Although there is no FDA approved medicine for POIS but various herbal molecules tried with mixed results.
Personally I advice the high intake of garlic with moderate dosage of anti histaminic drugs like cetrizine or levocetrizine with good results. The Relora supplement that you are taking is another option but I rarely find it useful with my patients.
Other thing which is advisable is to go for high intensity exercises with balanced diet when practiced for longer term shown good results.
To conclude you please do the following things
1. Regular high intensity exercises
2. High consumption of garlic
3. Low dose of anti histamine like cetrizine 10 mg a day 2 hour before sexual activity.

I have both Zyrtec and Xyzal, which Xyzal was prescribed to me by my family doctor before also for Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome because I asked him to prescribe Xyzal to me. But, my family doctor prescribed to me the Xyzal 5 mg since 10 mg is not covered by my insurance. I want to ask you if 5 mg is O.K.? I want to ask you if cetrizine is Zyrtec and levocetrizine is Xyzal. If yes, then since I have both, and my family doctor can always prescribe Xyzal, then which one do you recommend the best?
Thank you
Xyzal is better provided slightly better

Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
In most of my patients I recommend them to 10-15 gm of fresh garlic for this purpose (if they prefer to take it with food). In case they have food habits in which they dislike food cooked with garlic it is advisable to take garlic extract in dosage range of 900-1800 mg in three divided dosage per day.
The garlic extract is available online and various ayurvedic stores in my country. I am not aware of USA but I am sure that you can buy one from XXXXXXX or ebay.
Regarding antihistamines I prefer Levocetrizine (Xytal) as it is comparatively less sedative than cetrizine. The usual recommended dosage is 5 mg per day but in case you get inadequate response and do not have troublesome side effects you can go upto 10 mg per day. Xytal is also better for you because of insurance issues.
I like to emphasize here that regarding effectiveness not much difference is reported and whatever suits you most (in regard to side effects) is to be taken.
