Suggest Treatment For Psoriasis On Palms, Feet And Elbows
My mother has a skin condition from few years. dr say it is Psoriasis. I have attached some pics, its on her palms, feet and elbows. I have collected some info online, and come to know that it is incurable. She has started an ayurvedic treatment and that dr says he will guaranteed cure it. Is it really curable by ayurveda or by any other way? what is the proper treatment?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have gone through your query and I have noted down your concern but unfortunately I could 'nt find any of the Images. I request you to kindly upload the Images, again.
Psoriasis can relapse after seemingly complete cure and there is no treatment, at present, which would ensure freedom from future relapses whether it is allopathy or ayuveda.
Treatment for psoriasis is governed by the severity and extent of involvement. Topical treatment alone is prefered for limited skin involvement e.g a few patches. Besides emollients, topical treatment include topical steroid creams/ ointments/lotions etc with or withour salicylic acid; topical vitamin D anlogues like calcipotriol, calcipotriene are also used for topical treatment of psoriasis.
In addition to topical treatment, systemic treatment is preferred for widespread skin involvement with psoriasis and systemic treatment modalities mainly includes methotrexate, phototherapy, retinoids, cyclosporine, biologicals etc.

Topical calcopotriol and betamethasone valerate for psoriatic patches
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank you. I have reviewed the Images. She seems to have limited skin involvement. I would suggest her to apply Amylac cream, twice daily. It is a moisturiser. After that she may apply Daivobet cream, twice daily, just over the psoriatic patches. It is a combination of calcopotriol and betamethasone valerate. I think these together would suffice for her. Once her psoriasis patches have resolved she may then discontinue daivobet and just continue with Amylac cream.
