Suggest Treatment For Pulsatile Tinnitus In Ear
Question: I have TMJ, and for the past year probably I will occasionally get pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear. I can hear my heartbeat in my ear for just a few seconds usually and then it is gone again. I also get it with physical exertion and sometimes with a bowel movement. It is seldom, but I read bad things about pulsatile tinnitus. Is this related to the TMJ?
Brief Answer:
Yes, it is related to TMJ.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
If the tinnitus is on the same side as TMJ, then TMJ is very probably the cause.
TMJ is the second cause of tinnitus after hearing loss.
Bad things you read about tinnitus usually have other symptoms too, except tinnitus, so, if you experience neurologic symptoms, you need to consult you primary care Doctor.
So, don't worry more than necessary about your tinnitus.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
