Suggest Treatment For Racy Heart While Having Bowel Movemnt
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am a bit worried because right now I went to the bathroom and all of a sudden my heart started racing? I thought I was having a heart attack? I have had a history of anxiety in the past and did get heart papilitations because of anxiety. There were times I wanted to pass out and throw up. What could this be? Is my anxiety back? Please help. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Nothing worrisome,possibly anxiety/acid reflux...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and I can assure that what you are experiencing is nothing worrisome.
It is common to have increased heart beats especially when you have constipation problems (straining too hard).
Anxiety is another factor that would aggravate your symptoms.
Acid reflux is also another possible cause.
At the end, there is nothing worrisome with your actual health conditions. Continue taking omeprazole and follow the right diet changes.
If the increased heart beats will persist, I advise to consult with neurologist.
Hope it helped!

Thank you Doctor,
also my heart rate is at 67 beats per minute. I hope that is good too. I was exercising and lifting weights before I had this and all of a sudden I got an anxiety attack when I was driving. Since then I haven't gone to the gym and I fear losing the muscle I gained. Since that little attack that's when the stomach problems came in and my felt the acid come up. I have ate better in the last two weeks.

Brief Answer:
Perfectly normal....
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Your heart rate (67) is also fine. It is normal to get increased heart beats after exercising or lifting weights.
You should be taking anti-acids and PPIs (e.g. omeprazole, etc) to treat your stomach problems.
Healthy eating regimen is also encouraged.

Hello Doctor,
I woke up today with a sore throat and now I have a cough sneezing and a runny nose. My chest also feels a little jittery or like a ticklish feeling. Is this a cold or a flu? Can the anxiety cause this as well?

Brief Answer:
Yes, due to decreased pH of the stomach as following....
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
When you have a cold, the stomach pH is lowered more, thus, making the symptoms more notable, including those of acid reflux. The more acidic the pH of stomach liquid is, the more you feel the symptoms.
I advise to treat your sore throat through:
- good throat hygiene (gargle with warm salt water)
- take 1 teaspoon of honey and olive oil in the morning
- increase fluids intake
- can use OTC lozenges for sore throat
If the symptoms will not improve, you should see your physician as might need prescription medications (e.g. antibiotics).
Wish fast recovery!
