Suggest Treatment For Random Blisters On Legs

Question: What would cause random blisters to appear? Our son occasionally gets these. One has just appeared on his leg. This is his second blister. Age is 23. Diameter is approx. 2".

I understand your concerns.

Can you please upload a photo of the blister that appeared on your son's leg? I need to know what the appearance of the blister is: white head? fluid-filled? pus?

Can you also tell if he is suffering or being treated for any disease? diabetes? thyroid? or other metabolic diseases?

As this is the second blister, can you please tell the treatment you did for the first one?

Is he athletic? Is he living with you or a student?

Not athletic. Fluid filled on calf of back leg. No treatment this far. Job is desk work.

2. As he is having a desk work, and non athletic, then I suspect he might be suffering of leg's edema (swelling ).

In such cases blisters might appear. A further echo doppler of blood vessels in the legs is advised for proper evaluation.

I advise to measure blood sugar levels to exclude diabetes.

Hi back,

Thank you for providing the requested photo.

I have gone through it carefully and noted the blister. As this is repetitive, taking into account that he is doing desk work, then, most probably this might be due to any insect bite.
Can you please report if it is itchy or not?

As he is only have this blister and no other clinical symptoms, I advise to:
- wash with soap and water
- rinse well, dry well
- apply hydrocortisone 1% cream locally

If anything unusual he might feel like abdominal pain, headache or joint aches, then, should consult with his physician as soon as possible for further treatment.
