Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Abdomen, Chest And Neck
Question: I have had this rash for about 2 weeks and it is slowly adding more dots. It is mostly contained to my stomach, chest and neck, with only a couple spots on my sides. The splotches are slight raised and mostly not itchy. I have been washing this area more, but is continues to grow. By chance I have been having stomach and gut pain for 2 weeks as well but I dont think they are related. What is this rash and what should I do?
Brief Answer:
Looks like pityriasis rosea, cortisone cream & tablet aciclovir
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photographs and it seems to be pityriasis rosea which is a self limiting skin eruption associated with viral infection.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to take tablet aciclovir 800 mg four times in a day for 5 days and apply cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily for 2-3 weeks.
It will take few weeks to disappear.
Aciclovir is a prescription drug and you need to see the doctor in person to get it.
