Suggest Treatment For Rectal Bleeding
Question: Hi, well recently I have noticed these purplish lumps and bruise like skin appear near my rectum, as you can tell from the picture below. I've also been bleeding from my rectum when I wipe, the color of the blood is light red, and I've been experiencing a form a discharge, the discharge doesn't seem to be severe as it occasionally happens. I was wondering can this possibly be hemorrhoids, or something more severe such as colon/anal cancer or possibly colitis. Or I'm possibly overreacting and its just hemorrhoids. Please respond, I really need help severely worried

1) Your uploaded picture shows slight bulge on one side of rectum, this is hemorrhoid. Bluish linear discoloration on outer part of anus is superficial veins. In your case main concern is hemorrhoid not the superficial veins as a source of bleeding.
2) Hemorrhoid is abnormal dilatation of small veins present in wall of lower part of anal canal due to reduce back-flow in these veins. High abdominal pressure is most common cause for reduction on back-flow in these veins.
3) Hemorrhoid is classified as external or internal based on location in relation to anal verge. Your hemorrhoid might be internal variety which is extending outwards due to size.
4) Bleeding in hemorrhoid can only be decide by size of hemorrhoid. Thus internal hemorrhoid is less likely to bleed.
5) Thus main reason for bleeding for you might be anal fissure which is linear tear on inner wall of lower part of anal canal due to excessive straining to pass hard stool. Thus internal hemorrhoid and fissure can be together as they share common risk factor.
6) Diagnosis of either/both of these conditions are easy and simple physical examination and visualization of inner wall structure of lower anal canal with proctoscope is sufficient.
7) Treatment consist of prevention of constipation by stool softener or laxatives, relief in peri-anal pain by local application of anesthetic ointment and anti-inflammatory medication to reduce swelling.

thank you for answering! I have another question, can this also be Anal Cancer? I was reading and that it's sometimes mistaken as hemorrhoids. I don't have insurance so I haven't had the chance to go to the doctor

Thank you for replying ! This is my last chance to reply, since I only had the chance for two follow up questions. I thank you fro your answers truly appreciate it. and yes when I felt the area it was not hard but soft, and I haven't been bleeding lately from my rectum, and no I don't feel any foreign body sensation. And to end my statement I've haven't lost my appetite while eating and haven't experienced any weight lost. Thank you for everything truly appreciate it . I've worried about my health lately been scaring myself with all the reading I've been doing on the internet
