Brief Answer:
Correct and sustained antibiotics is the key!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these recurrent sties that you have reported. As opposed to chalazion that is caused by duct blockage, sty is not caused by blockage of the eye glands. A sty is caused by a bacterial infection. Healing in most cases is spontaneous and should this fail to happen, then antibiotics would be prescribed. I think recurrent occurrences suggest that you would need some antibiotics for germ eradication and prevent future occurrences. I am happy your doctor has done so. Please, administer the drugs as recommended.

In addition to drugs, avoid manipulating the sty constantly, place warm clots to facilitate healing and avoid putting any make ups until there is complete healing. If you do wear contact lenses, make sure the handling process is not prone to contamination that can predispose to sty.

Prevention consists in keeping the hands clean and away from the eyes as well as being very careful with make ups.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
