Brief Answer:
The treatment is antibiotic ear drops

Detailed Answer:
Hello

second ear infection in two weeks is a point of concern and you should meet your ent doctor, The infection can be persistent and lead to decreased hearing, therefore we must not ignore it.

The most common cause for the infection would be improper feeding position in a small child, this leads to regurgitation of milk into the ear via the eustachian tube ( a normal tube connecting the back of your nose to the ear) . this will lead to recurrent ear infection.

Please meet you pediatrician, he will tell you the best technique and position to feed your baby, he will also prescribe the necessary antibiotic ear drops to combat the ear infection.

Please keep the ear dry and avoid water entry into your babies ear for next 2 weeks, this will help in healing.

Please dont worry ,your baby will be fine.

Take care

Thank you for your response. I am feeding baby in the proper way, inspite of that its happening. I am concerned regarding the hearing, if this infection as of now will cause hearing problems in my baby.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
yes there is a chance for the hearing being affected

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Please dont take it otherwise, there is a possibility that the feeding position may be wrong and i would strongly suggest that you meet your doctor.

The hearing can be tested by an audiologist, by a test called BERA but for that the infection has to be cured.

Please remember that although the risk is very very low, there is still a chance for the hearing to be affected , that is why i would like you to consult your doctor.

Take care
