Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have gone through your query and I have also review the Image.
I can see reddish to violaceous, dry, eczematous patches on ankle and few post-inflammatory dark spots from previous resolved patches.
This is most likely Lichen Planus, Lichen planus presents as violaceous, itchy, smooth, shiny, papules and plaques which heal with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested you to use a potent topical steroid e.g either clobetasol propionate 0.05% Or halobetasol propionate 0.05% cream/ ointment, twice daily at affected site.
An OTC Oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.

Lichen planus
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Ok. Thanks for the input. I will try to be simple.
The condition which you have is known as 'Lichen Planus'. It is a form of eczema.
Lichen planus usually presents as reddish-purple, itchy skin lesions/ patches.
Legs/ ankle/ feet are commonly affected sites.
Lichen planus can be localized to a particular area Or it can be widespread/ extensive in distribution.
For Localized involvement, treatment is with topical superpotent steroids e.g Tenovate cream (clobetasol propionate 0.05%), can be used twice daily.
Lichen planus responds well to these steroids. Topical superpotent steroids should not be used for more than 2-4 weeks continuously and should always be used under supervision of a dermatologist.
Lichen planus is usually itchy, therefore, tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once daily in evening would provide you symptomatic relief from itching.
