Acne vulgaris & telogen effluvium
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM..
Thanks for uploading photos of the lesions..
After reading history and seeing the photos,it seems that your wife suffers from acne vulgaris and telogen effluvium. I can understand your concern for treatment of acne lesions of your wife in lactation period.
I would like to give following suggestions...
- she may take azithromycine tab 500 mg thrice a week.... one tab ...mon,tue,wed...for few months or till good result in acne
- she may apply clindamycine gel on lesions at night
- to cleanse the face with cetaphil lotion
- due to hormonal imbalance, she would have relapses..so,tell her to relax and keep patience for the good result
- if there is dandruff, tell her to do shampoo with shampoo containing ketoconazole twice a week
- hair fall in post partum period is common,so not to worry.. Iron, zinc, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B complex and vitamin E might be helpful. Application of mild steroid lotion on scalp improve hair growth. Almond oil may be used twice a week.
Above treatment may be considered after consulting the dermatologist. Please remember that certain drugs are contraindicated in lactating mothers.
I hope this would help you in management of your wife's problem...ok
Thanks..
Have healthy life..
