Question: I have a weeping wound from a boil and have been on antibiotics but skin still red around wound. What can I do to heal this

To recapitulate: Female/44 - weeping wound from boil - on Flucloxacin - skin still red around wound - known diabetes type 2 - taking medication Dapagliflozin and gliclazide - wants to what can be done to heal this.

As per the history you have provided, I would advise you the following:
First of all get the blood sugar and HbA1c should be checked to confirm that diabetes is under control as it is possible to have proper healing only if diabetes is well under control.
Apply Liquid povidone iodine to the wound and the area around to keep the area sterile.
If there is no more response to Flucloxacin - say for 2-3 days it is prudent to add on or change over to another antibiotics.
Take multivitamins.
Anti-inflammatory medicines like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
