Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. You seem to have a glossitis. This would hurt when you swallow.
2. In your case, this would be related to the Post Nasal Drip (PND), the Oral Thrush, Nutritional/Mineral deficiencies (including B Complex and Folic Acid) and Low hemoglobin (Anemia).
3. PND is usually due to sinusitis. Get a Sinus CT done if you have already tried medication. The coated tongue is usually related to dehydration, acid or bile reflux, dental problems and so on.
4. HIV and STDs do not seem to be the problem. These can be easily ruled out by tests.
5. Get yourself treated for sinusitis, PND and glossitis accordingly, and the symptoms will improve. These are common problems. There is no cause for worry.
I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.

Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. If your partner has been tested and the results for his HIV and STD tests are negative, you will not get these infections from him.
2. It is better to repeat the HIV test after 3 months as HIV has a window period where immediate infection cannot be detected.
I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.

Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. The image shows the inflammation on the tongue. Looks like a glossitis.
2. A swab or scraping from the area will help diagnose the exact problem.
3. This does seem to be a mild problem and will respond to medication along the lines suggested in my first answer.
I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.

Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. These are common problems. Do not get worried about them. Just keep your appointment on Friday. Tell your doctor to check for sinusitis, reflux and recurrence of the thrush.
2. In your case, these symptoms would be related to the Post Nasal Drip (PND & sinusitis), the Oral Thrush, Nutritional/Mineral deficiencies (including B Complex and Folic Acid) and Low hemoglobin (Anemia).
3. It will be helpful to know what diagnosis your doctor arrives at.
I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.

Hi,
Thank you for writing back.
1. The risk of transmission of STD/HIV is very low in unprotected oral sex as compared to other forms of unprotected intercourse.
2. Other than STD/HIV, unprotected oral sex may lead to emotional and social issues. Between uninfected people (without multiple partners), it is safe.
3. If you are unsure, avoid as far as possible or insist on a barrier method.
I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
