Suggest Treatment For Redness And Irritation On Tongue
Question: The back left side of my tongue is red and irritated/hurt. Sometimes hurts when i swallow. Could this be from the oral thrush i had about a month ago? It seems to be taking awhile to go away, and i still have some white stuff in the back of my tongue. I also had a sinus infection a month ago and have post nasal drip still. However im scared that this could be an STD because i gave my boyfriend of a year unprotected oral sex. He got tested and his results were negative for HIV and STDs. Im still scared Please help me.

2. In your case, this would be related to the Post Nasal Drip (PND), the Oral Thrush, Nutritional/Mineral deficiencies (including B Complex and Folic Acid) and Low hemoglobin (Anemia).
3. PND is usually due to sinusitis. Get a Sinus CT done if you have already tried medication. The coated tongue is usually related to dehydration, acid or bile reflux, dental problems and so on.
4. HIV and STDs do not seem to be the problem. These can be easily ruled out by tests.
5. Get yourself treated for sinusitis, PND and glossitis accordingly, and the symptoms will improve. These are common problems. There is no cause for worry.

So if my boyfriend is STD/HIV free, i wont get it from him?

So why does the back left side of my tongue hurt? It hurts when i stick my tongue out all the way and sometimes when i swallow. I cant really discribe the pain but see how its red and irritated
