Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
i read your question and i understand your concern. Your throat symptoms, something stuck in the throat feeling, excessive mucus production all fit to your esophagus symptoms barrett's esophagus. At age of 84, modifying diet and lifestyle, taking supportive care with omeprazole, gastric motility enhancing medications etc are some of the options. Small frequent meals, plenty of fluids, delaying lying down after the meal, eating small frequent meals, doing salt water gargles and avoiding trigger foods like spices, beer, fatty foods, processed foods, canned foods, dairy products, chocolates and sweets. Dry mouth will be helped by frequent fluids intake. Artificial salivary supplements can be utilised, chewing a gum will help the symptoms as well and help increase the bowel motility.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
